For passengers with special needs
Information about specific stations and electric train services where passengers with reduced mobility (hereinafter – PRM) can board and alight from the train without the use of special lifts can be found in this section.
Meanwhile, to facilitate boarding for persons with reduced mobility, at certain passenger stations PRM assistance is provided for boarding and alighting from train carriages to the platform using mobile lifts. This service is provided free of charge.
- Currently, the service is available at the following stations: Riga, Ogre, Aizkraukle, Pļaviņas, Krustpils, Stirniene, Rēzekne II, Ludza, Līvāni, Daugavpils, Madona, Gulbene, Jelgava, Dobele, Saldus, Skrunda, Liepāja, Sigulda, Cēsis, Valmiera.
- PRM requiring assistance must notify their planned journey at least 24 hours in advance via the free 24-hour telephone 80021181 or 8760 or electronically by filling out and submitting an application.
- PRM who have received confirmation for the requested service are required to arrive at the respective railway station no later than 30 minutes before the departure time of the train indicated in the application.
In modernized diesel trains, the built-in lift solution for passengers using wheelchairs, available by booking the service 24 hours in advance, is offered at the following stops: Riga, Jāņavārti, Jumprava, Skrīveri, Aizkraukle, Koknese, Pļaviņas, Krustpils, Viļāni, Rēzekne II, Ludza, Daugavpils, Olaine, Jelgava, Dobele, Skrunda, Liepāja, Zemitāni, Sigulda, Cēsis, Valmiera and Valga on the following routes:

To request the lift in diesel trains, passengers must call the free 24-hour telephone numbers 80021181 or 8760, 24 hours in advance.
A person with reduced mobility requiring assistance to get from the Riga station building to the platform and back can receive assistant services by notifying VAS “Latvijas dzelzceļš” via telephone 80021181. Assistance from the platform to the station building can also be requested using buttons located on the platforms. Assistant services must be requested 30 minutes before the service is needed. Without assistant help, persons with reduced mobility can access Riga station platforms 2 (tracks 1 and 10) and 1 (tracks 11 and 12).
