Regular Train Service Launched on the Tallinn–Tartu–Riga Route
On Monday, 12 January, in the afternoon (at 14:50), the first regular train will depart from Tallinn Baltic Station on the Tallinn–Tartu–Riga route, arriving at Riga Central Railway Station at 20:46. Initially, tickets will be available only for international passengers; domestic tickets in Latvia on the Valmiera–Riga route will be available for purchase within the coming weeks.

Vivi trains carried 21.3 million passengers last year; 98.4% of trips completed on time
In 2025, a record 21.3 million passengers used the services of the train passenger carrier Vivi. This is an increase of almost 1.9 million, or 10%, compared to 2024, when just under 19.5 million were carried. At the same time, the punctuality of trains - a measure that reflects the on-time completion of trips according to the timetable - reached 98.4% last year, maintaining Vivi's position among the most punctual train passenger carriers in Europe, despite extensive repairs to the electrified network of VAS “Latvijas dzelzceļš” on the Tukums and Jelgava lines.
