Baggage ticket
Where can I purchase a ticket?
- A ticket can be purchased on the Vivi website, in the Vivi Latvia mobile application, at our ticket offices, on board the train from the conductor, as well as from our cooperation partners – in the Mobilly mobile website or on its application, on the bezrindas.lv website, or at Tapbox ticket machines.
In which cases is a baggage ticket required?
- If you wish to transport baggage whose dimensions (length, width, and height) exceed 60 × 40 × 20 cm, but the total sum of the dimensions (length, width, and height) does not exceed 200 cm, the weight does not exceed 35 kg, and it does not disturb other passengers.
- If you are a passenger entitled to discounted fares, payment for the transportation of baggage exceeding the free baggage allowance, as well as for the transportation of baggage and animals, must be made in accordance with the tariffs approved by the carrier.
- If you wish to transport a bicycle on the train, a baggage ticket must be purchased. Please note that the bicycle must be transported in a carriage equipped with special bicycle holders, and the number of bicycle holders must correspond to the number of bicycles being transported. If the passenger train is not equipped with bicycle holders, the maximum number of bicycles allowed per carriage must not exceed 5 bicycles.
In which cases is a baggage ticket not required?
- A passenger is entitled to transport baggage free of charge if it is easy to carry, its type and packaging allow it to be placed in the designated area without difficulty, and its dimensions (length, width, and height) do not exceed 60 × 40 × 20 cm, while its weight does not exceed 20 kg.
- On passenger trains, it is permitted to transport crutches, baby strollers, wheelchairs for persons with disabilities, as well as baggage where one of the dimensions (length, width, or height) exceeds 60 × 40 × 20 cm (for example, a folding fishing rod, skis, or sledges), free of charge.
- A guide or assistance dog may be transported free of charge.
JSC “Pasažieru vilciens”, which provides passenger rail services under the Vivi brand, applies a contractual penalty of EUR 5.00 for the unpaid transportation of excess baggage and animals.
